I’m going to have to rip out the SotSii.
I just can’t fix it, and I can’t continue on, either. My short attention span got me good this time, and then my “try it and see” got me too. I just can’t rip it out right now, I know I have to, but I have to let it be for a little longer. I somehow feel like I must honor it by allowing it to exist untouched for a short period of time. It’s a weird feeling.
I went on Ravelry last night to see if there were any patterns that looked interesting, particularly a more beginner-friendly lace project. The Veil of Isis is the opposite of that. But oh! How pretty it is!
What. Is wrong. with me?
Maybe I’m the compliment to people who will knit anything for any reason, regardless of its utility or how appropriate something is to be made out of interlocking loops. (I’m looking at you, edible knitted thong pattern!) Apparently, I’d rather torture myself to make something intricate and breathtaking.
Yep, that totally fits.

This project wasn’t meant to be..think of the trouble you had in getting the yarn you originally wanted for it.
You should try it another time after some other lace successes which I’m sure are in your future.
You are obviously in love with the lovely loops and holes and not holes of lace. The Wisp is so amazing. Why not make yourself one of these. I love it.
I too feel that it’s easier to frog a project the longer you wait to do so. Your emotional commitment seems to fade or at least be forgotten a bit. And it helps if you have an exciting new use for the yarn.
Oh wow. Isis is gorgeous. I can see why you’re in love. I have yet to tackle a square though.
As for your lace project? Some projects are just not meant to be. I know a lot of people have had success with the Forest Canopy Shawl. If you can find a handpaint that you’re in love with that might be a good way to start. Just a suggestion!
Sad to see it end, but I hope you (and your yarn) will be ready for the next Secret of the Stole in August. Perhaps this one was just not meant to be the one for you.
